About The Wee Bag Band
Starting as a duo about 15 years ago the Wee Bag Band now consists of 5 musicians playing several instruments including guitar, fiddle, ukulele bass, mandolin, banjo, harmonica, bodhran & whistles. If you would like a bit of a ceilidh along what we do then Alan our bodhran player is also a dance caller. We are totally self sufficient in that we have our own 3000 w sound system.
What to expect
We are a very dynamic and upbeat band whose influences come primarily from the Irish / Celtic genre with the odd blue grass number here and there. We spread our sound over the the 3 primary modes which include Trad (jigs, reels, hornpipes etc), Popular ( Whiskey in the jar, Irish Rover etc.) and Contemporary ( Waterboys, Sawdoctors etc) We also like to involve our audience in our style so this involves ceilidh dancing, playing the bodhran and singing along well know songs.
